True Norwegian BM

This is a long documentary, the focus is on Gorgoroth, with lots on Gahl:

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

Two favorite quotes are in part 4: "You can not go to school to be an artist." and "My whole process of creating is based on being away from people." I have to admit Gahl is pretty cool.
Sadly it is made by Vice.

  1. I thought it was pretty cool, but I also thought that the vibe you get from Ghal has a lot to do with how the film-makers present him. I think they were pretty invested in seeing him in a certain light, and didn't do enough to chip away at the front. They sort of did when they asked him if he ever got lonely— his reaction to that revealed a tiny peak behind the facade, I think, if only due to the studied way he glared at them.
I get the mystique of a character like that, but I think it's sort of sad when it comes down to it. He's just doing his damndest to deny his own humanity.

  3. Here is what you'd originally posted if you wanna edit it:

yeah- that documentary was pretty good, despite it's association with VICE. it's better than that new "Until The Light Takes Us" documentary.

i love when that one dude is like "i can't make it up this mountain." i'm sure Gahl was thinking "what a pussy."

Gahl is kind of amazing. i love when he just stops answering questions and stares at them.
